Situated to the west of Yaho, Yagawa is named after the small ‘Hake’ river that flows from west to east through Kunitachi City. To this day, the river’s water stays pure and clear, remaining a beloved nature spot for local residents.

Summer nights here feature the famous Tachikawa Fireworks Festival at Showa Kinen Park. From Yaho, you can enjoy a magical experience—watching fireworks burst simultaneously in the northern sky over Tachikawa and the southern sky over the Tama River!
In Tokyo, lines running north to south are rare, as most run east to west. The Nambu Line is one of these few unique routes, and Yaho is a station right on it. Riding this railway offers a wonderful scenic journey!
Yaho Station is one of the stops on the JR Nambu Line, which runs between Tachikawa and Kawasaki. While the station building itself has a simple, classic design, stepping outside puts you right at the gateway to the breathtaking nature of the ‘Yaho World’!

This traditional Edo-era farmhouse was recently moved here from the Aoyagi district. It beautifully showcases a time when Japanese farmers lived closely with their horses and cattle, sharing their home with them as if they were family.

Now a scenic park, Joyama was once the site of a great 14th-century fortress, giving the area its name, which means ‘Castle Mountain.’ The small river still flowing past this park today carries a deep history, as it marks the true origin of Yaho Village.
