The short story of Kanji pictures
This kanji is made of two parts.On the left is the ‘fire’ radical.On the right is an element showing firewood stacked high to build a large bonfire. Combined, this kanji originally represented a bonfire lit to illuminate the night or clear the fields. Over time, it came to mean a blazing fire that spreads rapidly and burns everything in its path.
This kanji depicts a fire burning strongly, with one “fire” radical stacked on top of another. As you can imagine, this kanji means “flame.”
The character for the sun is remarkably simple. As you can see, it is represented by nothing more than a basic round mark.
On the left side of this character, you can see the ‘SUN.’ On the right, it depicts a fresh green plant growing from clean water in a tank. Together, they represent ‘glowing beautifully in a great environment.’ Over time, its meaning shifted, and today it is used to mean ‘FINE’ or ‘CLEAR WEATHER’ in Japanese.
